Happy 2008!

And so another year has passed. Damn that was quick. Frightening to realise how fast time flies.

2007 was quite an eventful year for me. It was one hell of a roller-coaster ride, really. But I take it with stride. I cherish the good things that happened (meeting new people, making new friends) and accept the bad (emotional turmoils). And yes, everyday I try to accept the things I cannot change.

I wouldn't say that this year was bad. But I do hope 2008 will be better, with more good things to come. To cheer myself up, here are some things I will definitely look forward to in 2008:

1) Graduating (hellelujah!)
2) Joining The Expat full-time
3) Hopefully do a bit more travelling
4) Getting a place of my own

And no, turning 30 is not one of them. :-( I'll just remove two candles and pretend I'm 28 again.)

I gave up on drawing up resolutions because, honestly, I never fulfill them. It's overrated if you ask me. Anyway, I would like to wish everyone a very happy new year and have a good one! Cheers!

The Expat Group Gone Wild!

Hello one and all! At the risk of sounding ... well ... obvious, my blog was in serious need of an update. This is not my end-of-the-year post, first and foremost. That's coming later. It's been a busy couple of months, really. Most importantly, The Expat Group Xmas party on Wednesday night was a blast!!! Two of my colleagues did a splendid job of organising the whole shindig at Marketplace Restaurant in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng. French fusion cuisine place actually. Apparently they had to negotiate for the tapas and free flow of booze or dinner... they chose the former and I personally should give them a medal for that!! Good on ya mates!

Anyway, we had such a great time. From the pictures you will see below it was a fancy-dress-cum-Xmas-with-a-touch-of-up-the-ying-yang-costume party! Yours truly went as a naughty school teacher, with a metal ruler and fake bookish glasses as props! Let's see, also present at the soiree was the jailbird, slutty cowgirl, slutty sailor (you see a pattern here?!... hence the title of this post) ... and among others. My boss, apparently, from the views of others, came as James Bond. Or was it Hugh Hefner? I seriously thought John Travolta in the later years. Hehheee....

Anyway, after the party a few of us adjourned to The Heritage Mansion at Asian Heritage Row for more booze. All in all, it was a fun night. Enjoy the pics. (NOTE: SOME PHOTOS ARE OF GRAPHIC NATURE. PARENTAL GUIDANCE IS ADVISED).
