Have A Good One!

Hello people! Will be heading up to Penang in a couple of hours but I couldn't leave without putting up my usual year-end post. So here goes...

OH GOODNESS! I'll be turning another year older to 2?... and then after that ?0! Dammit. (Note to self: Get a freaking grip) Anyway, 2006 was definitely an eventful year for me and for many of you too. As we all remember, the first six months was a gruelling and trying time for us when we had to carry out our CPM projects. Friendships were tested and most importantly ... our sanity! I don't know if any of you remember when I said, "We definitely saw some people's true colours." You know what? Life reared it's ugly head and many of us felt the wretched brunt of it all. Well, shit happens. Honestly, I am sad that we had to go through those unpleasant times because the sentimental schmuck that I am, I kept thinking back to when we first started in Sem 1. There are a lot of memories to choose from, I guess. For me, the trying times were not only centred in college but at home, too. Let's face it, we all have our own problems. But there's nothing else to do but move on.

A lot of things happened in the last six months too. I think most of it was during our internships and some of us who were busy applying to unis to do our degrees. Shees... that's one hell of a subject to rant about. I still haven't heard from a certain company on whether or not I am the lucky recipient for their scholarship award. It's been two weeks. I'm quite peeved. But there's nothing much I can do but wait. I've dealt with waiting and disappointments (knock wood) before, so it's fine. Things happen for a reason, I believe.

I watched the HBO movie about the Tsunami two nights ago and was intrigued by what one of the actresses conversation:

Tsunami victim: "Why did God do this to us? Isn't God supposed to look after everybody in this universe? Isn't that why He is there for?
Woman: "God is The Almighty. But to look out for everyone on each corner of the globe? ... All we can do is hope that He will bless us."

Makes you think, huh? People, I don't want to ramble on more but since some of us won't be seeing each other next year, I just have to say, I am really gonna miss:

1) Our eating and talking sessions at the college mamak stall.
2) The Thursday morning breakfasts at McD's in SS15
3) The impromptu meetings and intellectual conversations at the area opposite the Penang Cafe.
4) Bitching sessions at every corner of Leisure Commerce Square.

So, with that I end this last post for 2006 with ... Happy New Year to all of you, don't yam seng too hard and have a good one in 2007. I sincerely hope all your dreams and MINE come true.

Till next year, adios.
